The Comeragh Mountains Expedition is an overnight hiking expedition that takes you through some of the most stunning locations in the Comeragh Mountains. Along the way you lean many new skills such as map-reading, bushcraft, campcraft,natural navigation and more.

2 days/1 night: Comeragh Mountains.

This expedition is about having fun, getting out and enjoying the great outdoors while hiking The Comeragh Mountains. Along the way you will learn many valuable tips and tricks about being in the mountains and maybe even grow a desire to continue onto bigger adventures.


We will be touching on the basics of many skills in the mountains and by the end of it you should be more comfortable with map reading, camp-craft, using a compass and more and you also get the chance to sleep under the stars and even go for a night hike!

Fitness & Age

Prior to booking on to the Weekend Expedition program you should have a basic level of fitness that will allow hike for up to 6 hours a day while carrying a 8kg bag.

A good tester is doing the Spinc walk in Glendalough without any issues while carrying a 6 kg bag!

Wild Summits will provide the following equipment:

  • Tent
  • Rucksack
  • Sleeping mat
  • Sleeping bag
  • Stoves
  • Cooking equipment

You must provide the following

  • Boots
  • Water Bottle (1l)
  • Headtorch (Decathlon)
  • Rain Jacket
  • Rain pants
  • Snacks (Nuts,dried fruit)
  • Layers i.e. fleece,thermal top/bottoms.


There are no refunds given for vouchers.

Vouchers are transferable. Please email [email protected] if you wish to transfer your voucher.

If the expedition is cancelled due to weather then your voucher can be used for another date or against one of our other services.


Day 1

1100hrs: Meet and greet.

1120hrs: Expedition pack talk and route talk.

1145hrs: Begin Hike

1300hrs: Intro to navigation

1600hrs: Summit reached

1900hrs: Camp set up – Bushcraft Skills – Dinner

2200hrs: Bed.

Day 2

0830hrs: Rise.

0900hrs: Breakfast.

1100hrs: Navigation Skills.

1400hrs: Emergencies in the mountains.

1530hrs: Back to car
